Generative Sample Instrument

Drop any sample on the platter and SPIN. Jukebox turns one sound into endless playable instruments: root pitch is detected automatically, six macro planets — pitch, filter, space, motion, texture, envelope — orbit your sample, and every spin lands somewhere musical by design. Lock what you love, spin the rest, and save keepers as record codes that reproduce the exact sound forever.

Features

Technical Capabilities

Drop any sample — root pitch detected (YIN), auto-loop with crossfade, instantly playable across the keyboard

The orrery: six macro planets orbit your sample; distance from the sun is intensity, and the constellation they draw is the patch's visual fingerprint

SPIN — one button, endless sounds. Musical by default: key-quantized pitch, weighted-musical distributions and mud-guardrails mean every spin is usable

CHAOS sets how far the planets jump; the WILD toggle honestly removes every guardrail

Per-planet LOCKS keep favourites on the next spin · UNDO SPIN · A/B compare

RECORDS: eight slots (A1–B4), tap to play, hold to save — deterministic seeds reproduce every spin identically on any machine

Two pitch engines per voice: STRETCH — formant-preserving spectral resynthesis with pitch and formant as separate dimensions — and CLASSIC tape-style repitch

Independent FORMANT control: shift character without pitch, or pitch without the chipmunk

STARMAP: pick a key, get seven one-finger diatonic chord pads with roman numerals — triads or 7ths — playable from MIDI C0–B0

SCALE LOCK snaps incoming MIDI to the selected key

Planet engines: morphing SVF filter, shaped ADSR, texture (drive / crush / detune / scatter), tempo-synced motion LFO, and an in-house FDN reverb + synced ping-pong delay

MOONS: put your own plugins in orbit - up to 3 third-party VST3/AU inserts on each of TEXTURE, MOTION and SPACE, with individual hosted parameters armable for the SPIN with min/max ranges

SPIN from MIDI C-1 — randomize sounds without touching the mouse

Orrery

Six planets, one sun, endless records

Your sample is the sun. Six macro planets orbit it — how far each one sits from the centre is how hard it works on the sound. SPIN throws them into new orbits inside musical guardrails; the constellation they form is the sound's fingerprint. Nothing is ever lost: every spin is a deterministic seed, and the eight record slots replay any keeper exactly, forever.

Pitch

The star feature: spectral resynthesis with pitch and formant as separate dimensions. Shift a vocal up a fifth and keep its chest; move only the formant for alien character. CLASSIC mode gives honest tape repitch instead.

Filter & Envelope

A morphing state-variable filter (LP → BP → HP on one axis) and a shape-morphing ADSR — snappy exponential plucks to slow logarithmic swells — sculpt each voice.

Texture & Motion

Drive, crush, unison detune and scatter add dirt and width on the bus; a tempo-synced LFO (sine / ramp / S&H) breathes into filter, pitch, space or texture.

Space

An in-house 8-line FDN reverb with musical decay mapping, plus a tempo-synced ping-pong delay — spun sounds arrive produced, not dry.

The Jukebox Workflow

Drop

Any sample — a vocal chop, a field recording, a synth stab. Root pitch is detected with YIN, loop points are placed with an equal-power crossfade, and the whole keyboard plays it in tune immediately.

Spin

One button. The spin-brain draws every planet's parameters from weighted, correlated, key-quantized distributions with guardrails against mud, wash and screech. CHAOS scales the jump distance; you can spin fifty times and get fifty usable sounds.

Wild

A separate, deliberate toggle removes all guardrails: chromatic pitch, full ranges, no correlation. Two honest modes — the default can never embarrass you in front of an artist; WILD is for when you want the accident.

Lock & Undo

Love the space but not the pitch? Lock SPACE and spin again — locked planets hold exactly. UNDO SPIN steps back; A/B holds two candidates for an honest compare.

Record

Hold a slot to press the current sound onto a record (A1–B4); tap to play it back. Records store the seed and the complete patch — deterministic down to the byte, on any machine, in any session.

Starmap

The bottom bar turns key-agnostic sounds into music: pick a key, and seven diatonic chord pads (with roman numerals) play full triads or 7ths with one finger — from the UI or MIDI C0–B0. SCALE LOCK keeps every incoming note in key.
